ANZAC DAY GET TOGETHER

This is The Fish Inn in Zwingen (20minutes train ride out of Basel, Switzerland), an English Pub where we had our get together last Friday night.

Here we all are thanks to Maria and her wonderful camera. 5 from New Zealand, 7 from Australia, 3 Swiss and 1 American but brought up in Australia (so really an Aussie).

We had a great time together. As you can imagine there was lots of noise, laughter and chatting. It was such a success we thought we might organize a gathering like this on a regular basis. Mind you, the organizing will fall on my shoulders, but I suppose that's part of the fun.

Zwingen is the cutest little village. Not a lot there actually, but it is on the river.

NEW PLANT and NEIGHBOURS HOUSES !!

So, what's inside here! I just love the way the Florists and Garden Shops wrap up your flowers and plants (to keep them safe from the weather).
And here it is! My new bathroom plant looking very healthy. In the background is a painting given to us by a friend (Lisa) here. She is a wonderful artist and this is a special picture.
Isn't this house so cute. Taken from our loungeroom window!

Also taken from our loungeroom window, the side of the house next door. Oh I forgot, I should have taken a photo of the vegie garden in progress. Next time.

Yes, I did have things to do today, but I didn't really feel like doing them. I did make a lasagne for my Girl's Night tomorrow night and started on the chicken soup stock for Monday lunch time when the hiking group is coming here for lunch.

GIRL'S AFTERNOON

Fauzia, Marieke, Patricia and Yvonne
I have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with young friends watching Pride and Prejudice and munching our way through the day! We have decided we are going to start a yearly tradition! Ah, there's nothing like Miss Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy!
Roger was at an all day Choir Rehearsal so I decided to make the most of the day and do some serious girlie TV watching!!

THIS AND THAT

So, what have I been up to since Easter?!! Having been sick for 2 weeks prior to Easter I have been trying to catch up on 'things', but I realise this is not possible! We've done lots of entertaining, which we love, walking, reading, writing, etc. I am hoping for some Spring weather. It has continued to be rather cold here and the last few days we have had a lot of rain, so our little canal in the backyard is rather full and bubbling quickly along. We love it.

I've been cooking a lot, but giving most of it away (which is good for us both - that we don't eat all the things I make!!). Had 2 visits to the Dentist - my teeth are terrible. I don't know how they can do anything to my teeth, but they do and I continue to have my own!!
Last night a few of us met to say goodbye to Galerie Weibel and then to move on to Trade.ch to inspect Fritz Weibel's beautiful new offices. He has begun an investment trading bank and my goodness, is he doing it in style. He would have one of the most central positions in Basel with quite the view of the comings and goings of people.

Above are Fritz, Amanda, Roger and Aaron
